Series 4 Has Landed: What Makes Leadership extra-Ordinary?
Season Four of The extra-Ordinary Leader has officially launched, and I wanted to take this first episode to share the vision behind the podcast—and what I mean when I talk about “extra-Ordinary leadership”.
To me, the word “ordinary” doesn’t mean boring. It means the things we all deal with in leadership and life: deadlines, pressures, stakeholders, parenting, and career decisions. It’s the baseline of being human.
But what if we could add something extra to that?
In this episode, I unpack the heart of the podcast and my own personal inflexion point—from full-time stay-at-home mum and vicar’s wife to running a thriving consultancy and working with exceptional leaders. I talk about the importance of knowing yourself deeply, the danger of flatlining, and why we need to borrow from the brilliance of others to grow.
This season, we’ll dive into inflexion points with a brilliant line-up of guests, as well as shorter solo episodes—Dolly in My Pocket—where I’ll share powerful excerpts from my book, The extra-Ordinary Leader.
I hope you’ll listen along,
Dolly
